Project Overview
Tempo Insights is a web-based management portal designed for healthcare providers to manage patient interactions and monitor health outcomes through the TempoSmart (TM) app. The portal allows providers to invite patients, review health data, manage medication and insulin programs, and monitor overall patient engagement and outcomes. This case study showcases the user research and design process aimed at enhancing the usability and functionality of Tempo Insights.
My Role
As the product designer for Tempo Insights, I led the user research and design process, creating intuitive interfaces and ensuring seamless user experiences for healthcare providers and case managers.

Market research
Market research involved analyzing competitors, industry trends, and user needs to ensure Tempo Insights meets the demands of healthcare providers. This informed the design decisions and helped identify key features for the platform.

Insights and Opportunities from User Research
User research revealed several opportunities for enhancing Tempo Insights, aimed at better addressing the needs and preferences of healthcare providers.
Provide a longer trend view to compare patient progress since the last appointment.
Identify and adjust insulin delivery overcorrections and device settings.
Enable multi-device views to compare and overlay data from multiple sources.
Use predictive analytics to improve the timing and effectiveness of injections.
Enhance patient security by quickly identifying areas and patterns in different treatment options.
Competitive Research
To enhance Tempo Insights, I conducted a competitive analysis of key players: Dexcom, Glooko, and Incom. This process involved evaluating their features, strengths, and weaknesses to identify opportunities for improvement.
Dexcom: Provides real-time continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems with accurate data and user-friendly mobile app integration.
Glooko: Offers a diabetes management platform that integrates data from various devices, providing detailed analytics and centralized data access.
Incom: Focuses on innovative diabetes care solutions with remote monitoring, predictive analytics, and user-friendly interfaces to improve patient outcomes.
